This issue is a whole two days late since I took Thursday off to study for a major Biology exam. I hope you'll forgive me. On the unforgivable side (relatively speaking, of course) I mentioned in the last issue that NETLIB will respond to the mailed command SEND INFO when I should have said SEND INDEX. Take a look at the section on mail-based info servers for more details. Thanks to June Genis and Dr. Michael Goldapp for the correction. Andreas Wojczynski has corrected my spelling of the location of NETSERVE@CEARN. Hopefully, I got it right this time. Sorry folks, I took Spanish in high school, not French. I've forgotten most of that, though. I never was much good at languages, most especially APL. John Voigt has informed me of a new list server, LISTSERV@MARIST. To review, list servers will respond to the following commands: REView - where is the name of a mailing list you are on via this list server. You will be sent a file with the names and userids of the people on that mailing list. QRDR - you will receive a message listing the the mailing lists that you may be added to. This is true for all the list servers except LISTSERV@NCSUVM, which responds to the ever-popular HELP command. /LIST... According to Jeffrey Kell there are two new Relay conference machines, RELAY@CANAD01 (University of Guelph) and RLY@CORNELLC (Cornell University). Those of you who followed the drama of the old Cornell Relay (MAS) several issue back know what this must be doing to me. Hopefully this one will stay active. I am told that it is an official id created for just that purpose, so the chances are good. That should wrap up this issue. Mid terms are next week (for me, at least) so good luck!
